Will Superman Save this world??

Our planet is sick, it is dying.

Decades of irresponsible ravaging of the Earth’s resources has caused an unfavourable effect on the climate, and it is changing for the worse. According to Al Gore, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize this year, we have barely 8 years to stem the impending crisis.

The pressure, many would like to believe, is on governments and policy-makers. The idea of them – a regulatory law-making entity that will solve the crisis for you – is one ridden with fallacies. In a democracy, you are them. The time to point fingers is gone. Responsible living begins with assuming responsibility toward the cause.

It begins at home. It begins with little changes in lifestyle that can allow the shift in paradigm. You do not need to stop watching television, for example, to conserve Earth’s limited supply of fossil fuel energy – you need only remember to unplug the socket when you switch off.! these are some small things which we are unaware of. You have to make this world a better world!

The Mumbai Unplug – Batti Bandh initiative attempts to inspire awareness, and to exhort the people of this great city to proactive commitment. As a sign of support, and to demonstrate that we will and can rise to the occasion as responsible citizens of the world, Mumbai Unplug requests the people of Mumbai to switch off lights and electrical appliances for one hour on the 15th of December 2007 (Saturday), from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm in the evening.

What would one hour do you may ask?

Imagine the awakening of a collective conscience of not only 20 million people but 6 billion people around the world who will know that 20 million people took a stand, made a commitment, rose out of their daily lives and became heroes.
Remember, there is no superman. You are the superhero. You must save the world. Because only You can.

Join the revolution.
